ACGT - A Comparative Genomics Tool
نویسندگان
چکیده
SUMMARY ACGT (a comparative genomics tool) is a genomic DNA sequence comparison viewer and analyzer. It can read a pair of DNA sequences in GenBank, Embl or Fasta formats, with or without a comparison file, and provide users with many options to view and analyze the similarities between the input sequences. It is written in Java and can be run on Unix, Linux and Windows platforms. AVAILABILITY The ACGT program is freely available with documentation and examples at website: http://db.systemsbiology.net/projects/local/mhc/acgt/

Its high level objective has been the development of methods and systems for improved medical knowledge discovery and understanding through integration of biomedical information (e.g. using modeling, visualization, data mining and grid technologies). Biomedical data and information that have been considered include clinical information relating to tissues, organs or personal health-related info...
متن کاملComparative genomics of human stem cell factor (SCF)
Stem cell factor (SCF) is a critical protein with key roles in the cell such as hematopoiesis, gametogenesis and melanogenesis. In the present study a comparative analysis on nucleotide sequences of SCF was performed in Humanoids using bioinformatics tools including NCBI-BLAST, MEGA6, and JBrowse. Our analysis of nucleotide sequences to find closely evolved organisms with high similarity by NCB...
متن کاملMaizeDB – A Functional Genomics Perspective
MaizeDB (http://www.agron.missouri.edu/) has existed since the early 90's as a genomespecific database that is grounded in genetic maps, their documentation and annotation. The database management system is robust and has continuously been Sybase. In this brief review we provide an introduction to the database as a functional genomics tool and new accesses to the data: 1) probe tables by bin lo...
متن کاملVIMSS Computational Core: Comparative Analysis of Regulatory Systems in Environmental Microbes
Background. The VIMSS Computational Core group is tasked with data management, statistical data analysis, modeling, and comparative and evolutionary genomics for the larger VIMSS effort. We have matured many of our analyses and VIMSS data into our flagship comparative functional microbial genomics tool MicrobesOnline (http://microbesonline.org). We have used this framework to interpret the data...
متن کاملEvidence for Directed Evolution of Larger Size Motif in Arabidopsis thaliana Genome
Transcription control of gene expression depends on a variety of interactions mediated by the core promoter region, sequence specific DNA-binding proteins, and their cognate promoter elements. The prominent group of cis acting elements in plants contains an ACGT core. The cis element with this core has been shown to be involved in abscisic acid, salicylic acid, and light response. In this study...
